The Big Bet (thebigbet.org) is an analysis-first sports information site covering football (the top five leagues, the Champions League and the World Cup), NBA basketball and cricket. We collect live odds, write pre-match prediction guides, and — once matches are played — go back and check our own predictions, publishing both the hits and the misses.
What the site offers
- Odds and predictions: the homepage and category pages list upcoming matches with their odds, along with the chances those odds imply.
- Pre-match prediction guides: each match is broken down by form, injuries, what the odds are saying, schedule density and other angles, showing the full reasoning rather than just a conclusion.
- Prediction reviews: after the matches, we revisit our pre-match calls using scores, shots and expected goals (xG), including the games we got wrong.
- Team and season trend analysis: squad changes, tactics and season outlooks.
- Betting knowledge: how to read odds, how point spreads and totals work, NBA format and salary-cap rules, and similar fundamentals.
What the site is not
This site is not a bookmaker. It does not accept bets, does not handle any money, and does not link to bookmakers. All content is for reference only and is not betting advice — see our Editorial Policy and Responsible Gambling pages.
Who runs it
The site is run by a small independent team of sports fans — not a company or commercial organization. Members choose to stay anonymous and are split into three desks by sport; articles carry the name of the desk that wrote them:
- Football Desk: follows the Premier League’s big six (Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool) along with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, and centers its coverage on those clubs and competitions.
- Basketball Desk: covers NBA season previews, division and conference predictions, and explainers on league format and salary-cap rules.
- Cricket Desk: covers odds and analysis for tournaments such as the IPL, PSL and Asia Cup (cricket content is mainly offered in the English, Thai and Bengali versions).
Technical services are provided by Maxora AI. The site is available in Traditional Chinese, English, Thai and Bengali, and the sports shown differ slightly by language.
